Dr. Priscilla Jacobs Maynor, Founder + CEO

Priscilla is a systems-focused education strategist, generalist and collaborator recognized in many circles for her broad knowledge in public education, and her business acumen and forward-thinking leadership. Priscilla’s experience spans across the K-12 public education sector – from the classroom, school, district, regional, state and national levels. Her unique set of expertise and perspectives on organizational leadership and capacity-building, culture, teaching + learning, equity and the power of the community voice fuels her passion to catalyze education innovation particularly in diverse communities + populations that are often marginalized, underrepresented and underserved.

Dr. Walter Kahumoku III, Senior Consultant

Walter spends much of his time re-imagining the act of teaching and learning. He designed the Hawaiian Culture Based Education system focused on personalizing learning for indigenous youth. His current work around Culture Based Education as it applies to rigorous curriculum standards has been critical to helping teachers understand how to reach students in meaningful, relevant ways.  With a wealth of experience in teacher and administrator education, curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment, dual language education, professional development, research, and policy, Walter continues to guide school leaders and teachers in the work of reaching more students in powerful, meaningful ways.

Dr. Leslie Locklear, Program Manager

Leslie is a culturally focused, community based educator who values collaboration and community as a means of advancement for all. She is experienced in leading and managing federal professional development grants for programs such as the First Americans Teacher Education (FATE) program and First Americans Educational Leadership (FAEL) programs at UNC-Pembroke where she trains American Indian teachers and administrators to work in schools serving American Indian youth. She also serves as the Co-Chair of the North Carolina Native American Youth Organization Adult Advisory Committee. Her expertise is culturally relevant instruction and research based ways to integrate the diverse cultures of their students into the classroom.  Leslie’s passions include culturally relevant curriculum, working with Native American youth councils, college and career counseling and supporting educators in the classroom.

Billy Maynor, Senior  Director of Operations

Billy is an innovative leader in bridging business technology, operations, and strategy into a streamlined approach for success. He has 30+ years of global, corporate-level experience in leading diverse teams, fostering collaborative partnerships, overseeing operations and engaging customers.  Billy is a change agent well-versed in strategy, planning, and executing initiatives including managing large scale, complex projects. He serves as the lead advisor for business operations, growth strategy and improving financial performance.
